Sewing Novice was created in 2011 when I, April Baylor, decided I wanted to learn to sew.
I bought my first sewing machine and began my blogging and sewing journey all at the same time. That way I could share what I learned, mistakes and all!
When I first started, I made bags, small items for my daughter, and actually said I would never sew clothes. Now, I love sewing clothes, but still make bags and in general sew what I want/need in my life.
At Sewing Novice, I’ll teach you how to sew, by sharing step by step tutorials, made by me. We can perfect our skills together!
Sewing is really just following steps in order to get to a final project. The more you practice, the better you’ll become and the more confident you’ll be in your sewing skills.
If you’re new to sewing, you can start with my Beginner’s Sewing Guide. Even if you have some experience, you might still learn something new. One thing I have learned is that there is never just one way to do something when it comes to sewing and creating in general.
